"Clark Yost’s tracks are filled with the night eyes of jazz. Smooth vocal jazz, you might call it, and very certainly some of the smoothest from an unknown. Yost’s element is in the field of melody and laying down a hot bed of underlying sound onto which the leads can ease themselves. Great bass and snappy drums make this a small but tight sounding band. The instrumentals show off Yost’s subtle and almost new age style approach to the guitar as an echoey chamber of charm. This guy knows how to construct Cool. You don’t do it with hammer, nails and tongs, you buy yourself some strong fingers, a little heartbreak, some synth, a bottle of rye and enough skill to last 30 years. That’s all you need & Yost’s got all that." - Ben Ohmart - The Muses Muse "It
goes without saying, Clark Yost is one very talented individual who has
withstood the test of time and space. A very dilligent songwriter, guitarist
and vocalist. We look forward to working with him in his future endeavors
here at The Powerhouse. This is one musician who is definitely "On The
Ball" (pun intended here)." Michael J Paepke

Most biographical writings consist of important milestones, dates, names of associates . . . Though I may evoke all three to some extent, mostly throughout my adult life I have simply been creating art and music in the confines of small rooms in remote places, in a basement of a tolerant slum. Beauty is born in places like this all the time and it broadcasts out so well because, beauty like water, seeks it's level. I was born and raised in small town America. I felt happy the day I watched it in my rear view mirror, then over the horizon. I later idealized events I experienced there and now gravitate back. I'm grateful for my guitars - a three quarter size Gibson acoustic, a Guild Starfire IV I bought new in 1965 that I still have, although it looks like its been used as a Colorado River canoe paddle. In the 70's I liked my Gibson Firebird, becoming notorious for much reverb. Presently I play a full size Sebring arch top. Rather than say to you that in a certain place, at a certain time I played with so and so at the witchajigger club, I will just say that I have come out of nowhere . . . now apparently into your living room, bedroom, car. This I hope is beneficial to you because it puts my roots in a place foreign to most people's experience and offers you something new.
